Mostly from Doc’s Block by the sea at Haumoana, these vines are about 20 years old and have previously served up some of Hawke’s Bays finest Chardonnay grapes. Whole bunch pressed hand-picked fruit was run straight to new and seasoned French oak barriques. Wild ferment and rested on gross lees for nine months before bottling.
Subtle mineral, toast and peach characters on the nose, lemon curd and a precise, taut palate. Packed full of Hawke’s Bay, this Chard is one chalky, complex bad boy!
