Autumn 2017 was a little unsettled but came at the end of an advanced growing season. Expert canopy management, including shoot thinning and leaf plucking, has ensured vine health, ideal flavours and clean, ripe fruit. Machine and handpicked fruit, gently pressed into new and used barriques and stainless steel tanks for fermentation, blended and bottled in early 2018.
This is a classic, generous Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay – kicking off with aromas of grilled grapefruit, vanilla and hazelnut, following with a rich palate of citrus and bright acidity and toasty oak complexity. Drink now or carefully cellar for up to ten years….if you can resist!
