A sale note.
After 12 years at Parkhill Road, the time has arrived for us to get ourselves ready for the next shift in our wine business. After a beautiful but small 2024 harvest, we’ve made the difficult decision to put the vineyard and cellar door on the market in order to invest further in wine quality along with building our distribution platforms in Aotearoa and overseas, especially in the USA. Those of you who are local would have seen the signs going up on Friday.

While this may come as a bolt out of the blue for you, it’s something that’s been rolling around as an option for a while now. Depending on the outcome (sale or sale and lease back) this could mean no chilling on our gently sloping lawn this summer. But as it’s a land + building sale only - and not a wine or brand sale - we’ll still be making our Trademark, Quarter Acre, One Off and Wildsong wines, nothing will change there. We’ll still be on the shelf and wine lists of our favourite wine shops and restaurants.

Our fully stocked web wine shop is still open 24/7 and we have some deliciously named + tasting One Offs on the horizon. If you want a guaranteed steady supply of our wines, you can always join our super cool flexi wine club, Drinkers+Keepers, and we’ll send you a box of wine every three months. Check out or website for full details, and sign up to our newsletter for all the deals and wine goss.

That’s pretty much it at the moment. If you have any questions, or have a voucher or booking you want to chat about, just email jo@teawangaestate.co.nz and if you do want to catch us this summer, you can do so at the events tagged below.

We’ve had a total blast! From Sunday Sessions to our sold out F.A.W.C! events, from the post-cyclone neighbourhood drinks to the days of Imogen+Lu+Jenny+Nick+Kim+Greta all taking their turn at the helm. Over the years we’ve employed our three kids, our niece and nephews, and plenty of local kids too (little rock stars!). If you’ve visited us during the 12 years we’ve been here, honestly, thanks a bunch. And if you’ve ever had a hankering to buy a vineyard…you know where to come!

Thanks for your continued support

This makes me so sad, my favourite winery in the Hawkes Bay. One of the first vineyards we visited when we moved here over 5 years ago. Loved hanging out with Sally at the cellar door and later on Greta. Such a beautiful setting with great people and delicious wine. We will miss you 🍷

Pleased to hear the wine will continue 😀 Good luck on new ventures and adventures ✨️

Wow! Big changes ahead for you guys. Have loved all the events Trudi Cochrane and I have been to. Thank goodness I can still buy your Chardonnay! Alll the best guys X

Heads up Sauv lovers!
We’ve got a sneaky little $79 Six Pack Sauv Deal on the go at the mo if you jump over to our website.

Yep, we’re clearing the warehouse on our wonderful Wildsong 2019 Sauvignon Blanc so if you’re a Sauv fan, now might be a good time… 🌞

“Stonefruit, citrus and fresh herbs on the nose. A little time in the bottle has softened the bright natural acidity making this a really generous + attractive glass of wine.” RM

We’re still closed.
See you all when the sun gets a little warmer and people come out to play. Sorry if you miss us - we totes miss you! But, hey, check out our neighbours Clearview Estate Winery Restaurant Cellar Door and also @elephanthill who I believe has a brand new lunch menu.

And of course, all our wines are available online 24/7. We’d love to help you out 🍷.

Auction time.
Yes it is. We’re proud to once again donate wine for this fab event and fundraiser for @cranford_hospice . Our involvement goes way back… I mean WAY back…when as a fresh faced event manager I organised it for a couple of years before running away to have 👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼

The @hawkesbaywineauction will take place on 14 September, with your chance to taste all the wines on 14 August. And if you haven’t made it to the auction yet, grab some wine-loving friends and get along. Or sort yourself out with an absentee bid.

Here’s the patter from our lot, lucky lot 19:

‘This year we’re delighted to donate four vintages of fine, silky Syrah – 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 – with six magnums of each vintage on offer in the one silky auction lot.

This unique lot will not be found anywhere other than the 2024 auction – never commercially bottled and sold in magnums, blended specifically from a selection of our top Syrah vineyards from around Hawke’s Bay.

A total of 24 magnums or 36 litres, more than enough for your next dinner party + perfect for a syndicate bid. To be enjoyed now, and later, with plenty of light-hearted banter, tall stories, stonkingly good food and even better company.’

Head to @hawkesbaywineauction for all the deets.
