Beginning To End 2019
Cabernet Franc
Rod gets asked all the time for a straight Cabernet Franc, but being honest, he says it’s not an easy thing to do well with this grape, balancing the wine from beginning to end. This is done well! 2019 was the first of three really smart red wine vintages in a row. Hand harvested from two different sights, individually ferment and then blended in January 2020. Aged in old French oak barrels.
Deep in colour with raspberry and floral perfume, a silky palate with a little tobacco and black pepper spice. Front to back delicious!

The Word.
- 93/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review.
“Fragrant, floral aroma that suggests red rose which continues onto the sweet/sour palate where it meets red fruits including cherry and ripe plum with a smattering of fresh herb flavours. Supple wine that is delicious now.”
- 91/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit.
“Beautifully fruited and nicely lifted, the bouquet shows dark plum, cherry, bay leaf and roasted nut aromas, followed by a medium-full-bodied palate offering fine texture and polished tannins. Attractively harmonious and succulent, finishing lingering and pleasingly dry.”
